The Yuyuy Shirt is born from the journey that connects Mungui and Pampamarca, a trip through mountains, cold wind, and landscapes that hold the memory of our ancestors in the highlands of Arequipa.
Every detail of this garment honors that route: its wavy cuts on the shoulders evoke the silhouette of the hills, while the hand-embroidered designs represent the flowers, paths, and memories that accompany those who inhabited these lands.
Made from thin cotton denim, with a slight stiffness that gives it presence and structure, the Yuyuy flows between two worlds: that of the shirt and that of the light jacket, making it a versatile and contemporary piece.
Each embroidery is made by the women who are part of our Social Empowerment and Employability Program, transforming this garment into a piece with history, art, and purpose.
